Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join our engineering team in Sylmar, CA. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC lathe operations to produce high-quality precision components.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and experienced in working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Read Technical Drawings and set up machines according to blueprints
Set up machines, tooling, and fixtures for production runs
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements
Optimize programs for efficiency, accuracy, and cycle time reduction
Perform first article inspections and make necessary program or setup adjustments
Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
Work closely with engineers and machinists to improve processes and product quality
Maintain documentation for programs, setups, and processes
Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety procedures
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred)
Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Programmer in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong knowledge of CNC programming, setup, and machining processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
Strong understanding of tooling, cutting conditions, and materials
Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection processes
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an engineering-driven or high-precision manufacturing environment
Familiarity with multi-axis CNC machines
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
